​This is the boundary. It represents my purity of purpose and the refusal to ever return to silence.

For much of my life, I practiced a femininity of endurance. Growing up in a landscape of dysfunction and neglect, I learned early on how to stuff it all down and plow through, excelling at the roles society expected of me. But beneath the polished exterior, a wordless creative force was waiting for its moment of release. That release came around the time I turned fifty. It was a personal 'launch into space' that finally allowed me to find my true voice.

This self portrait is an expression of how I sometimes feel about this strange, crazy existence we inhabit. She resonates with many. If she calls to you, too, you can find her on a variety of products in my Etsy shop.
