Zodiac Khamsas
The Khamsa (or Hamsa) is a palm-shaped symbol, popular throughout the Middle East and Africa, that is incorporated into jewelry and wall hangings to protect against the "evil eye". I incorporated the signs of the zodiac to remind the viewer that we all have the power within ourselves to protect us from whatever life throws our way. While numerous books about astrology have been written, my two
favorites are "Linda Goodman's Sun Signs" and "Linda Goodman's Love
Signs", both by Linda Goodman and published by Ballentine. They're
oldies but goodies.
Originally created using metallic colored pencil on black paper, these images have been digitally enhanced with descriptive text, and are available as 9"x12" signed giclee prints on 13"x16" Bright White paper.
